Motorsport Ireland says it’s carrying out a full review of yesterday’s crash during a rally car race in Cavan which claimed the lives of two people.
Joe Lane, a well known sports photographer from Kilcolgan, County Galway and 29 year old Caroline Cleary from Cork died at the scene after a Ford Escort competing in the race plunged through a fence into a crowd of spectators.

Seven other people, including a driver and co-driver, were injured in the collision – which took place about a mile outside Bailieborough.
Garda forensic teams are examining the scene and post mortems on the victims will be carried out today at Navan General Hospital.
