A decision will be made later this month on whether the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival will go ahead this September.
Organisers will meet soon to decide on whether the festival, which typically attracts up to 60,000 people, can safely go ahead.
Some large gatherings of up to 5,000 people could be allowed from September and so the festival could still happen, although social distancing measures and other safety guidelines will likely remain in place.

Any cancellation of the Festival would represent be a severe financial blow to Lisdoonvarna and the wider North Clare area.
