Father appeal in petrol assault case

A County Clare father has appealed for help for his 26 year old daughter who doused him and a mother and her 18 month old baby in petrol.

John Mc McCarthy was speaking as 26 year old Majella Mc McCarthy of Galway Road Ennis was found guilty of three charges assault causing harm arising from the incident on the 4th of March last at Spanish Point Road, Miltown Malbay

Mr Mc McCarthy said the family have been living in fear of her for the past eight or nine years and that their home is a prison.

He added that he wasn’t looking for sympathy for himself but help for his daughter.

The case was up for mention in the courts today but sentencing will take place next Wednesday.
