It’s claimed Clare’s Community Development Projects are under threat due to plans to merge with local development groups.
The government has reduced the number of CDP’s nationally and are in the process of amalgamating with other local groups.
There are three CDP’s in Clare, the Clare Women’s Network, the East Clare Community Support Ltd and the Ennis Community Development Project.

Dermot Hayes, Chairperson of the Ennis CDP, which deals with travellers and immigrants feels that the personal touch of the Community project will be lost in the shuffle
