Clare TD’s say the Shannon estuary can be both a protected wildlfe area and be open to industry and development.
It follows a meeting between a delegation from the National Parks and Wildlife Services and government Deputies and Senators about developments regarding the deep water estuary.
It’s claimed the intentions of the Department of Arts Culture and Gaeltact is to designate the estuary as a special protected area which would hinder the development of business.
