It’s feared a reduction in the speed limit on the main Ennis to Crusheen Road will do little to end the recurrence of serious road accidents.
The dangerous bend at Bunnahow near Tubber has had temporary warning signs erected on both sides by Clare County Council following an appeal by the McGuane Family, whose family home become the site of 7 serious road accidents.
It’s hoped the opening of the Gort Crusheen bypass will reduce the volume of traffic on the stretch of road and the council has told Clare FM the speed limit will be reduced from 100 to 80 kilomoeteres per hour once the bypass is open.
