Clare County Council is to seek funding to carry out studies which could lead to a range of coastal protection works, following talks with officials from the Office of Public Works.
The areas involved have yet to be decided.

Their meeting came as the Minister responsible for the OPW, Simon Harris, called on the local authority to progress its program of repair works.
The local authority insists this is already underway, with over €3 million drawn down from an €8.276 million fund for Clare.
