Feast of Snooker in aid of Huntingdon’s disease

The only two Irishmen to have won the World Snooker Championship come together in Shannon tonight in a bid to raise funds for people battling a devastating brain disease.

Huntingdon's disease, which is inherited, damages brain cells and can cause problems with movement, behaviour and cognition.

Tonight, Ken Doherty and Dennis Taylor will face each other, and members of the public, at the beginning of HD Awareness week in an event that has been organised by a friend of Ennis man Frankie Lundy, himself a Huntingdon's sufferer.

His wife Siobhan is hoping it will attract a large crowd.
