FG insists no decision made on Olivia Mitchell

The jobs minister Richard Bruton says Fine Gael has yet to make a decision on whether disciplinary action should be taken against party TD Olivia Mitchell – in the wake of the Mahon Tribunal report.

The report showed that deputy Mitchell received an "inappropriate" payment from lobbyist Frank Dunlop.

Ms Mitchell strongly disputes the tribunal finding, which has been referred to an internal party inquiry.

The Irish Independent quotes several Fine Gael TDs – who say Ms Mitchell should be disciplined or asked to stand aside by the party.
