Fianna Fail says the closure of 159 rural post offices nationwide is a step too far for rural Ireland.
As part of the An Post plan, business will be moved to neighbouring post offices – the company says they’ll get better investment and have better services and products.
But the move means many people will now face longer journeys to their nearest location.

Six offices in Clare are among those earmarked for closure, namely Cooraclare, Cree, Doonbeg, Lissycasey, Kilfenora and Craggagh-Fanore.
