This year’s tough budget cuts and the poor poll performance of the Fianna Fail party have been up for discussion in Ennis today.
The Clare Comhairle Dail Cheantair of Fianna Fail’s conference at the West County Hotel has heard from several senior cabinet members today including Social Protection Minister Eamonn O’Cuiv and Transport Minister Noel Dempsey.
Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith and Defence Minister Tony Killeen also met with local Fianna Fail members to hear their views on pressing local issues, fears for Deecember’s budget cuts, and concerns about the party’s election prospects.
With public support for Fianna Fail at an all time low, Minister Noel Dempsey admitted to Clare FM that members are worried, but he said things could change between now and the next General election
