Files to DPP following CAB Raids

Two people quizzed at Ennis Garda station following a series of raids in Clare and Limerick have been released without charge.

The raids were carried out under Operation Platinum, established in 2008 by the Criminal Assets Bureau to target the assets of Limerick’s feuding gangland criminals.

A total of four houses and two offices were raided on Tuesday and up to forty members of the force were involved in the searches.

A man in his 30’s and a woman in her 20’s were arrested and Gardai also discovered a handgun and seized a substantial quantity of paperwork.

The two have since been released without charge and files are being prepared for the DPP
