The last Mayors of Ennis and Shannon will be elected today.
Fianna Fáil’s Peter Considine and Fine Gael’s Mike Fleming will relinquish their chains of office at separate Annual General meetings later this evening.

Long serving Fine Gael Councillor Mary Coote Ryan is expected to be selected as the new first citizen of Ennis , while in Shannon – Independent Councillor Patricia McCarthy – is expected to be elected as the town’s final Cathaoirleach.
