Young women from every corner of the county are preparing to battle it out to be named the 2018 Rose of Clare.
16 women will take to the stage and participate in the 39th annual festival in Cooraclare, while a number of other events will take place throughout the week-long festival.
Along with the competition itself, there’s also a field day, a parade, a kiddies disco, quiz night, song contest and – for the first time – a casino night on offer.

Helen Kelly is one of the organisers of the festival and says the fun kicks off on Saturday when the participants tour the Loop Head Peninsula – and it’s a week for everyone to enjoy:
