The Department of Finance is refusing to comment on allegations by the former CEO of Anglo Irish Bank of political interference.
Mike Aynsley says the Department was annoyed with the bank after it sold an asset to a "named businessman" – and wanted him excluded from further sales, even if it meant losing money for the taxpayer.

But the Department of Finance says it doesn't comment on matters raised at the Banking Inquiry and won't offer any reaction.
Fianna Fáil's Dara Calleary says that stance is totally unacceptable.
