Clare householders are being urged to make a clean sweep of it in 2013 when it comes to their chimneys.
The county’s Fire Rescue Service was mobilised to 48 incidents, during the Christmas period last year with 24 of the call outs related to chimney fires while fire-fighters also attended 4 house fires.

Ennis accounted for the majority of the call outs at 26 with the latest incidents including separate fires at two houses on the Clon road in recent weeks.
