Limerick welcomed the first New Years baby at seven seconds past midnight.
The little boy was born at the University Maternity Hospital – the hospital also delivered the first Christmas Day Baby.
University Hospital Waterford saw the birth of the second baby of 2018 at 12:23.

While just seven minutes later, at 12.30, Wexford General Hospital delivered the third baby of the New Year.
