Five people have been remanded in custody in relation to three unrelated cannabis seizures in rural Clare with a combined street value of over 739 thousand euro.
Two of the separate Garda seizures took place near Kilkee while a third sizure was made near Tulla over a 24 hour period on Monday.
Polish nationals, Adam Wrobel aged 22 and 19 year old Jagoga Gajewska of Lishanahan Lower, Kilkee were charged in relation to the sale and supply of cannabis worth 160,000 euro at their west Clare home on January 13th last.
Judge Patrick Durcan refused bail and the two were remanded in custody to re-appear in court on February 5th.
Two other Polish national appeared in relation to charges concerning an alleged ‘grow-house’ at Milltown, Tulla where Gardai detected almost 100,000 euro worth of cannabis in 124 plants and 200,000 euro worth of herbal cannabis during a search on Monday.
23 year old Emil Sumczynski and 25 year old Rafal Ucinek are charged the intent to sell or supply cannabis and both were remanded in custody to re-appear at Ennis District Court on January 22nd next.
In the third case Vietnamese national, Pham Van Tung aged 52 appeared charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sale or supply the drugs at his home at Tullaroe, Kilkee on January 13th after 350 cannabis plants with a street value of 280,000 were seized – he was remmanded in custody and is also due back in court next week.
