Five year old hurt in Ennis Crash

A five year old is in a stable condition in hospital after an accident in Ennis today.

The collision happened when the young boy who was playing on a toy tractor collided with a 4×4 at Claureen on the Lahinch Road at around 2.30 this afternoon.

The five year old was rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital but is said to be in a stable condition

Its understood he was playing near his home when he left the nearby housing estate and made his way on to to the main road on his plastic tractor and into the path of a passing 4X4.

The Lahinch Road from the first petrol station off Claureen Roundabout to the Texaco Garage was closed for a time but has since reopened to traffic
