Saint Flannan’s in Ennis has been named the third best school in the state.
A new league table compiled by researchers at the University of Ulster and the University of Limerick is the first to take socio economic background into account when assessing schools.
Until now the amount of students that progress to third level was the only factor considered.

The top school is The High School in Rathgar in Dublin, followed by Saint Andrews in Blackrock
Ten of the top 25 in the new list are fee paying schools
