20 families in South East Clare have been told they can return to their homes as water levels in the River Shannon continue to decline
Clare County Council and the HSE met with the families from the Shannon Banks areas yesterday and advised them that it was safe to move back to their homes – which were not directly hit by floods.
It comes after the construction of a 310 metre long embankment along the river bank.
In Ennis, 18 families remain in emergency accommodation while 12 others from Clonlara and 4 from Carron and Tubber have yet to get the go ahead to return home
Ger Dollard, Director of Services with Clare County Council says work is progressing on re-housing all victims of the flooding
