After a gap of over 33 years, the Lisdoonvarna Folk festival makes its return this weekend.
The popular festival which ran for 6 years in the late '70s and early '80s is being relaunched as a two day event which will be staged in the Burren Store house a couple of miles away from the original festival,

At its peak the event attracted over 40,000 people and inspired what is arguably Christy Moore's best known hit.
It gets underway this evening and Festival organiser Peter Curtin outlines some of what's on offer for music-lovers
