The former president of the IFA, John Bryan, says he wants to run for the Dáil.
He's confirmed he'll be seeking the Fine Gael nomination to run in the by-election in Carlow-Kilkenny in May.

It's to take place following the departure of former minister Phil Hogan to become Ireland's EU Commissioner.
His announcement may cause some internal conflict within Fine Gael in Kilkenny, as its other Kilkenny TD, John Paul Phelan, is from the same part of the county.
