A former Clare GP has failed in a High Court action to quash his conviction on charges of having Saint John’s Wort and other products without the necessary licences.
Pascal Carmody of Ballycuggeran, Killaloe was found guilty in November 2005 for nine offences including having the herbal treatment for wholesale purposes at premises at Bawnboy, Ballyroe, Tralee County Kerry without the required licence from the Irish Medicines Board.
The 61 year had sought orders aimed at overturning the conviction but this was unsuccessful at the High Court yesterday.
