A name has been chosen for the Midwest’s new University.
It will be known as Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest.
The University was founded to replace the Limerick Institue of Technology and Athlone IT and will have six campuses in Limerick, Ennis, Athlone, Clonmel and Thurles.

The name emerged from extensive independent research carried out with almost 3,500 students, staff, and regional stakeholders over several months.
