Fund Set Up For Franciscan Friary Renovation

A new fund has been set up in the hope of raising money for essential renovation works at the Franciscan Friary in Ennis.

100,000 euro is being sought to provide new seating in the 124 year-old building on Francis Street and a rejuvenation of the existing floor.

The Friars have long been associated with the county having arrived here 800 years ago and in 1892, the Church on Francis Street was completed at a cost of just under 6,400 pounds.

Fr Tom Ryan, who's helping with the appeal, says even the smallest of donations will be hugely appreciated
