Two of Clare’s Community Hospitals are to share a 1.5 million euro funding boost.
The money, split evenly between Regina House in Kilrush and Ennistymon Community Hospital, is provided by the HSE and local support groups, and will fund development works at both sites.
Phase one of the development at Regina House will allow for a purpose-built extension, comprising five en suite twin rooms and a resident’s sitting room while the extension in North Clare will include four twin bedded rooms along with storage space for equipment. Planning permission has been approved and both projects are in line with HIQA standards.
Tomsie O’Sullivan, Secretary of the Friends of Ennistymon Hospital Group, says the funding is an endorsement of work being done there.
