Kilrush senior citizens have been awarded funding by the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.
Almost 2,500 Euro will be available to the Kilrush Family Resource Centre as part of a new Seniors Alert Scheme.
The money will be used for security alarms and other equipment to ensure senior safety in West Clare.
