Funding for “Nicolas Room” at Cliffs of Moher

A US couple whose newborn tragically died at birth while they were visiting the Cliffs of Moher have donated 25 thousand euro to fund a first aid facility at the site.

The money is part of a pledge by Kelly Stokes and Delia Garcia Stokes to raise over 60 thousand euro for the provision of equipment for the facility dedicated to the memory of their son Nicolas.

More than 200 visitors have received first aid treatment and assistance at "Nicolas’ Room" since the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre was opened to the public two years ago.

The first instalment to fund the treatment centre was presented to the Mayor of Clare in Phoenix Arizona.
