Funding for additional flood relief work in Ennis has been confirmed by the Office of Public Works.
It’s one year since flooding caused major damage to property in Ennis and surrounding areas, with St. Flannan’s College and property on the Clare Road particularly affected.

Funding will go towards an overflow weir and a kilometre of new drains that will form part of the flood defence works in that area.
Although exact figures for the scheme have yet to be announced by the OPW – Clare TD Joe Carey says the work will be completed by the end of next year.
