Lengthy night -time water restrictions across Clare are set to resume this evening as council staff and extra contractors work to repair busts and leaks across the county.
The shut-offs were eased overnight to accommodate the New Year Eve’s festivities and an update on further stoppages are expected from Clare County Council later today.

However most restrictions are likely to take effect from 7 and 8 pm once again and the local authority is warning that the disruptions are likely to continue for up to a week in some areas.
Director of Services at Clare County Council David Timlin says they are working round the clock to repair the bursts and leaks but it will be several days before supply returns to normal
