A garda investigation is underway, after a man was assulted while leaving a fast food restaurant in Ballina.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, a couple leaving the business on the main street in the town were approached from behind by 4 or 5 men.
The man received a punch to the back of the head and a black eye before falling to the ground with those involved in the incident making their getaway away with a number of his belongings.
