A readjustment of the Garda Divisonal boundaries by the Minister for Justice could prove detrimental to people living in the South east Clare area if they are to be implemented in the coming months.
Under proposals announced by the former Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan, Garda area boundaries are to be re-alligned along local authority lines.
This would mean that the people of the South East Clare area who are currently served by Gardai from Limerick’s Henry Street and Mayor Stone stations when the station in Ardnacrusha is closed, would be policed by Gardai in Shannon and Killaloe.
