Garda Investigation After Three People Assaulted In Two Ennis Incidents

A garda investigation is underway after three people were assaulted in two incidents in Ennis last evening.

Two people have been taken to hospital, following the incidents in a fast food restaurant on O’Connell Street and in the Friars Walk car park.

It’s understood that a woman in her fifties was assaulted by a man, in a fast food restaurant on O’Connell Street in Ennis, at around 6.30 last evening.

Shortly afterwards two men, a man in his fifties and a man in his seventies, who were getting out of their cars, were set upon by the same man in the Friar’s Walk car park, close the Templegate Hotel.

Emergency services were alerted and the two male victims were taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where they were treated for injuries, which are not believed to be serious.

Gardaí in Ennis say they are following a definite line of inquiry, and that they have identified a suspect, but no arrests have yet been made.
