Garda Warnings Renewed as Cold Snap Continues

Road safety warnings are being re-iterated today, as the adverse weather continues in some parts.

Road conditions are said to be improving overall, though Gardai in Clare are still asking motorists to exercise caution and avoid certain routes.

The Corkscrew Hill area of Ballyvaughan remains closed today due to icy conditions, and the Ennistymon to Corofin Road is also closed.

The Inagh to Miltown Malbay Road remains open, though gardai are advising motorists only to use the route if necessary and to take extreme care due to heavy snowfall in places including the Hand and the Connolly area.

Gardai in Killaloe say road conditions haven’t improved much since yesterday in the Flagmount and Feakle areas and also between Broadford and O’Briensbridge.

In Kilrush Gardai say the backroads remain hazardous, particularly between Cranny and the Six Crosses area, the Cree to Kilmihil Road and the Carrigaholt to Kilbaha Road.

Snowfall and remaining ice have left many smaller routes dangerous throughout County Clare so Gardai are advising motorists to continue to drive with extreme care.
