Gardaí are warning motorists of patches of black ice on a number of main stretches across County Clare this morning.
According to Kilrush Gardaí sections of the Ennis to Kilrush Road are quite slippy this morning with reports of black ice in parts .. the road has been gritted but drivers are still urged to proceed with caution.
They are also warning drivers that conditions around Moyasta and other secondary routes are also dangerous,
Elsewhere and Ennis Gardai is also urging Ennistymon bound motorists to exercise care on the road from Kilnamona to the North Clare town due to further icy patches.
And Shannon Gardai say care should be taken on all routes in and around the town but also on section of the motorway particularly near Bunratty.
Meanwhile gardai are investigating a serious crash on the Ennis to Galway road last night in which a motorists collided with two cars.
It happened on a dark stretch of road at Caheeny More around 7 kilometres from Gort … at around 6.30..
The emergency services had to use specialist equipment to cut the driver free from his vehicle,.. He was rushed to Galway University Hospital but his injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening.
