Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Ennis.
Emergency services were alerted to an incident in the Market area of the town at around 6 o’clock yesterday evening, during which a woman in her mid-twenties received serious injuries.
She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where she remains in a serious condition.
A man in his mid-30s was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Shannon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Anyone who was in the market area of Ennis yesterday afternoon, who may have witnesses anything suspicious, or who has camera footage, is asked to contact the incident room at Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100.
