Last month a 27-year-old man was arrested by detectives on suspicion of falsely imprisoning the 48-year-old but was later released without charge.
Gardai are now awaiting further test results but its believed Mr Greene suffered a violent death and may have been in the water for some time before being discovered by a local farmer in Portrine.
