Gardai are questioning the father of two young brothers found dead in a crashed car in Mayo.
Sanjeev Chada was released from Mayo General Hospital shortly after midday today – and detained by detectives investigating the murder of his two sons.
The 43-year-old was being treated for minor injuries – he sustained when his car collided with a wall in Rosbeg near Westport at around 3.30 on Monday afternoon.
The bodies of 5-year-old Ruairi and 10-year-old Eoghan – were discovered in the boot of the dark green Ford Focus – after the crash.
Sanjeev Chada has been taken to Westport Garda Station for questioning – under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Ruairi and Eoghan’s are due to be released later today and brought home to Ballinkillen near Bagenalstown in Co Carlow – as the preparations begin for their funerals.
Meanwhile Gardai are again appealing for information on the movements of the dark green Ford Focus – registration 06 CW 238 – as it travelled from Co Carlow to Co Mayo.
