Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary in West Clare.
The incident happened in the Knockalough area of Kilmihil last Thursday, shortly before midnight.
A gang of three people armed with an iron bar smashed windows to gain entry the home of the 61 year old man and threatened him.
They then escaped with a sum of money a short time later.
It happened at around 11.45 pm last Holy Thursday night and Superintendent Gerry Wall of Kilrush Garda Station is appealing to anyone with information on the incident or those involved to contact them on 908-0550-
It comes just days after a separate aggravated burglary in the Connolly/Inagh area in which an elderly couple were targeted.
While the pair weren’t physically injured they were left deeply shocked after the culprits smashed windows to gain access to the isolated house and subsequently escaped with a sum of money
