Gardaí have launched an investigation after the Bishop of Killaloe and the diocese were the victims of fraud.
Bishop Kieran O Reilly’s office became aware of a number of incidents in recent weeks in which an individual – unconnected to the diocese, ordered 3000 euro worth of goods by telephone from traders, using a Diocesan staff member’s name, and claiming to be acting on behalf of the bishop.
