Gardai investigating the murder of Ennistymon woman Emer O’Loughlin say they’re keeping an open mind about who killed her, despite specific appeals regarding a male suspect five years ago.
One week into their murder investigation, investigators says last week’s exhumation helped them to make significant progress in confirming the 23 year old Art student was murdered and opening up a new phase in their inquiries.
Gardai have thanked the O’Loughlin family for their co-operation and say the new forensic results offer renewed hope that Emer’s killer will be brought to justice, five years after her body was discovered in a burned out caravan near Tubber.
Emer O’Loughlin’s family believe they know who killed her, and have appealed for the original suspect to come forward, but Detective Inspector Gerry Roche told Clare FM they’re keeping an open mind for now
