Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Waterford.
The body of the man in his 60’s was discovered at Scotch Marsh House on Scotch Quay in the city.
As part of the investigation, a man and a woman have been arrested for questioning – they’re in custody at Waterford City station.
They’re being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, which means they can be detained for up to 24 hours before being either released or charged.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area between half past nine and half past ten last night to contact them.
The man’s body remains at the scene this morning, which has been sealed off for a technical examination.
A post mortem is due to be carried out later to determine the cause of his death.
