Gardai in Killaloe have seized a boat after declaring that the actions of it’s operator was endangering life and property
The skipper of a boat moored at Killaloe contacted Gardaí at around 7.30pm and said he feared for his safety after witnessing a sports cruiser "operating recklessly…in close proximity to his vessel".
The boat, which had four people on board at the time, was impounded a short time later near Ballina.
Earlier the Lough Derg lifeboat was called to assit a boat which ran aground off Crane Island close to Church Bay.
Eight people were on board, and had to be instructed to put on their life jackets by members of the Lough Derg RNLI
While the Kilrush RNLI and the Shannon Coastguard Helicopter were called to an area off the West Clare Coast where an empty dingy was found afloat
The incident off Ree-hee Hill turned out to a false alarm after a Yacht reported its dingy had been lost.
