A man is in Garda custody in Ennis following another drugs seizure in the county.
He was arrested during a planned overnight search of a home in Mullagh.
Shortly after midnight officers from the Ennis Drug Unit assisted by local Gardai searched a house on Main Street, Mullagh.
Inside the home, they discovered what is described as ‘a sophisticated grow house’ and cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €144,000.
A man in his early 30’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act. He can be held for up to 7 days.
It’s the seventh major seizure of cannabis by Gardaí in Clare so far this month. Over 1.5 million euro worth of the drug has been discovered by Gardai in Kilkee, Carrigaholt, Tulla, Caher and Spancil Hill.
