Gardai are urging motorists in County Clare to belt up this Bank Holiday weekend to amke sure they can enjoy the weeknd withut picking up penalty points.
Roads in the mid west and galway areas is said to be particularily heavy with people enjoying the final abnk holiday weekend of the summer.
Last year saw 4 road fatalities on the nations roads on the August bank holiday weekend incl;uding one in county Clare.

Sergeant Brendan Mc Donagh, from the Clare Garda traffic corps is urging those in cars to belt up and to avoid talking on their mobile phones while driving if they want to avoid a prosecution this weekend
