Clare’s Green Party Senator says a new scheme for people to sell excess renewable electricity to the national grid will allow us to produce our own energy.
The Microgeneration Support Scheme is currently up for consultation with government aiming to introduce it by July.
Similar schemes in other countries suggest small solar panels on average households may produce around €75 worth of excess electricity each year.

Inagh-based Senator Roisin Garvey says the scheme will go hand in hand with retrofitting advancements across Clare and elsewhere.
