General Manager Of Trump International Claims Failure To Grant Planning Permission Will Affect Local Economy

The General Manager of the Trump International Hotel and Golf Links claims failure to grant permission for new coastal defences in Doonbeg could have a huge impact on employment locally. 

Its feared the resort faces potential closure if Donald Trump doesn't secure permission for a 200,000 tonne wall of rock armour.

Consultants acting for the US billionaire have issued the warning in new plans lodged with Clare County Council.

The structure, which will cost in the region of €10 million euro, is designed to prevent the golf course from being washed away by Atlantic storms and Joe Russell has been telling me while he's confident permission will be granted, there will be a significant cost to the local ecomony if it isn't.
