An elderly woman has lost her fight for life following an accident in Bunratty yesterday.
The 76 year old German tourist was struck by a passing tractor as she was visiting the Bunratty folk park yesterday afternoon – she had been walking on a pedestrian crossing at the time.
She was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where passed away late last night.

Gardai in Shannon have spoken with the driver of the tractor, witnesses at the scene and friends of the woman- their investigation is continuing.
A post mortem will be carried out on the woman’s body today.
