Germany has announced plans to shut down all its nuclear plants by 2022.
The decision comes in the wake of the disaster at the Fukushima plant in Japan and will make Germany the first industrialised nation to cease nuclear energy.

The Environment Minister made the announcement in the early hours of this morning describing it as "irreversible".
Germany has 17 nuclear reactors on its territory, eight of which are currently off the electricity grid.
